Our 1960 Community

Through so many different efforts, and partnerships with other like-minded organizations, we are working to bring hope and the love of Jesus to those God has entrusted to us, both within the one mile around Bammel and beyond. How can your gifts be used to impact our community?

Food & clothing pantry

Manna is our food and clothing pantry, serving families in our community every Saturday from 10am-noon. Donations are always welcome, and volunteers are always needed!

We serve the following zip codes: 77014, 77038, 77060, 77064, 77065, 77066, 77067, 77068, 77069, 77070, 77073, 77086, 77090, 77375, 77379, 77388, 77389, 77429, 77373

Contact George Jamison for more information or to volunteer.

Major Elementary

Just down the street from us is Major Elementary School. Bammel volunteers are welcome in the school, classrooms, and lunchroom, with opportunities for building relationships with students and teachers through tutoring, mentoring, reading aloud, laminating, and even teaching adult ESL classes. If you love working with children and have a little time each month, sign up to be a part of our volunteer program!

Homeless Ministry

Through partnerships with H.O.P.E. Haven and the Harris Co. Sheriff Department's Homeless Outreach Team, we are being the hands and feet of Jesus to the homeless population of northwest Houston.

In addition to our Starts With A Cut (SWAC) event, we're working on coordinating teams to help feed, counsel, and mentor the homeless around us. Contact Linda Sporkin to find out about opportunities to get involved.

Support Groups

Bammel is a safe place for hurting people. The following groups are offered on a regular basis, free of charge:

  • New Beginnings, spiritual support for recovery from alcohol and drugs

  • GriefShare, for those at any stage of the grieving process after having lost a loved one

  • Depression and Bipolar Support, click here for info

  • Financial Peace, a group designed to instruct and help you along the path to financial freedom

Bammel has a special partnership with Impact in inner-city Houston. From Impact Back-to-School Night in the summer, where we take kids shopping for school supplies, to adopting families for Christmas, we love being a part of blessing our Impact brothers and sisters! Contact Rick Flowers for more information on serving with Impact.
