About Deeper
Our culture is the most educated, most technologically-advanced group of human beings to ever walk on this planet.
We have learned how to multi-task; to be even more efficient than ever before.
We have the most advanced, intelligent equipment and tools of every kind in history.
We have more educational options than ever before.
We have the ability to make the world come to us and be much smaller through social media.
There are simply more options available to us in every single facet of our lives than any generation in any country in the history of the world.
So, we are happier than ever before also. We are more enlightened and wise than ever before.
Right?
To the contrary, we have discovered that these things have tended to make our lives a mile wide and an inch deep. We can’t keep up with everything right now and the world just keeps spinning faster and faster. And there is no sign of it slowing down at any time in the near future.
So what is the answer?
The answer is to go deeper, not wider.
But deeper into what? What do we invest in that will give the biggest payoff? How do we decide where to plant our flag?
We look to the God of the Universe. The Creator of all things is bound to have some insight into this question, isn’t He?
Most definitely. And He points us to the words of His Son. “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, all of your soul, all of your mind and all of your strength. This is the first and greatest command” (Mark 12:30).
In 2012, God is offering us a life-changing, transformational experience. In 2012, Bammel Church will spend the whole year pursuing the thing that Jesus Christ said is most important in the world. This is the one thing that is at the top of Jesus’ hit list. The opportunity of going deeper in our relationship with God.
It will take us in all kinds of directions. Some exhilarating. Some uncomfortable. Some both. But all will be life-changing. Not just in a good way, but in the best way.
