Our Foundation
We believe about God
God is a living, active, personal, present God who is all-knowing, all-powerful and all-loving. [Hebrews 4:12-13]
He exists in three persons – the Father (God), the Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. [John 16:5-16]
He created the earth that we live in, everything in it and all the heavens and galaxies around it. [Genesis 1:1-2]
He created mankind in His image and gave each person a soul that will live forever, either with Him in Heaven or apart from Him in hell. [Genesis 1:26-27]
He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on our behalf because the sin in our lives separates us from Him. [John 3:16]
We believe about Jesus
Jesus led a perfect life, free from any sin, and became the perfect sacrifice for each of our sins. [2 Corinthians 5:21]
Jesus was crucified on a cross and was resurrected back to life on the third day after His death. [1 Corinthians 15:3-5]
Jesus' willing sacrifice is a completely free gift that could never be earned. [Ephesians 2:8-9]
Jesus' willing sacrifice has the total power to save us and completely cover our sin and we are lost without it. [Hebrews 7:24-27]
Jesus' willing sacrifice allows us the opportunity to live the best life possible, both here on earth and one day with Him in Heaven. [John 10:7-10]
Jesus is placed by God as the head of His church. [Ephesians 1:22-23]
We believe about the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is alive and active, and lives within people who commit their lives to Jesus Christ. [Ephesians 1:13-21]
The Holy Spirit enables us to grow in the character traits of God: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. [Galatians 5:22-23]
We believe about the Bible
God's Word has the power to transform lives into the likeness of Jesus Christ. [Psalm 119:9-11]
God's Word is perfect. [2 Timothy 3:16-17]
We believe about Salvation
Our response to Jesus' free gift to us is:
- A humble, broken and repentant heart [Acts 17:30]
- Confession of Jesus' being the Son of God and Lord of our lives [Romans 10:9-10]
- Baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of our sins [Acts 22:16]
- A commitment to follow Him for the rest of our lives [John 12:26]
- A commitment to intentionally grow in a personal relationship with God [Mark 12:30]
- A commitment to share the gift of Jesus' sacrifice with people who don't know Him
[2 Corinthians 5:18-20] - A commitment to serve people in His name - to be His hands and feet to those we come in contact with [1 Peter 4:10-11]
- A commitment to worship and fellowship with a local church [Acts 2:42-47]
We believe about the Church
The church is not a building, but is a group of people made up of followers of Christ.
[1 Corinthians 16:19]
The church was established by God as the people with whom we worship, fellowship, encourage and serve. [Acts 2:42-47]
We believe about Worship
Our worship is for the purpose of pleasing God, not ourselves. [Romans 12:1]
One of the central reasons for worshiping together is to remember the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. [1 Corinthians 15:3-4]
We believe about Christians
Following Christ is not something we do; it is who we are. It is a lifestyle, not a segment of our lives. [2 Corinthians 5:17]
We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world around us. [John 13:14-15]
